Yellow Jackets Drop Another Game on the Road

Worcester, Mass. – The American International College men's ice hockey team lost 5-1 Friday night to Holy Cross at the Hart Center in Worcester. With the loss the Yellow Jackets fall to 4-15-1 for the season and to 4-10-0 in Atlantic Hockey play, while the win improves the Crusader's to 7-11-2 this year and to 6-8-1 in the conference.

Holy Cross got on the board first when sophomore Everett Sheen (Lethbridge, Alb.) scored his eighth goal of the season, unassisted at the 3:22 mark of the first period. The Crusader's added to their lead as junior Rob Forshner (Sundre, Alb.) found the back of the net with assists from freshmen Andrew Cox (Lombardy, Ont.) and Luke Miller (Andover, Mass.) to make the game 2-0 at the end of the period.

Holy Cross improved their lead when Forshner tallied his second goal of the night with assists, again, from Cox and Miller. Junior Brodie Sheahan (Lethbridge, Alb.) put the Crusader's up 4-0 when he netted a goal just 24-seconds later, with assists from classmate Ryan Driscoll (Dorchester, Mass.) and sophomore Jordan Cyr (Winnipeg, Man.). Freshman #Nielsson Arcibal# (Vista, Calif.) put AIC on the board late in the second period when he tallied a goal with assists from classmate #Luciano Primiani# (Montreal, Que.) and senior #Chad Richardson# (Regina, Sask.).

Cyr capped off the Holy Cross victory when he scored an unassisted goal in the third period, off of a turnover in the Yellow Jackets end.

Sophomore #Dan Ramirez# (Rochester, N.Y.) made 23 saves, while his counterpart, classmate Adam Roy (Feeding Hills, Mass.) stopped 17 shots for the Crusader's.

AIC was outshot 28-18 on the night and 11-3 in the second period.

Next up, the Yellow Jackets finish up the home and home series tomorrow night at 7:05 p.m. at the Olympia Ice Center.
