Albany, N.Y. - Saint Rose swept the season series with the American International College baseball team after recording a 7-1 victory Sunday afternoon at Bleecker Stadium. The Golden Knights improved to 10-20 on the year and 8-7 in the Northeast-10, while the Yellow Jackets dropped to 7-19 overall and 5-10 in conference play. Sophomore Dan Bassani (Naples, Fla.) went 2 for 4 in the game for AIC.

Saint Rose scored twice in the bottom of the fourth on an RBI single from Sophomore John Cole (Spring Valley, N.Y.) and an error and then broke the game open with a five-run fifth. Classmate Derek Marshall (Malone, N.Y.) delivered a two-RBI single after two runs were walked in by sophomore Nick Noblit (Westfield, Mass.). Junior Brett Weber (East Schodack, N.Y.) capped the scoring with an RBI-single two batters later.

Freshman Nick Polsinelli (Schenectady, N.Y.) tossed seven scoreless innings to even his record at 1-1 after allowing just two hits and striking out six. Noblit took the loss after allowing seven runs, six earned, and striking out six in 5.2 innings.

AIC broke Saint Rose's bid for a shutout in the top of the ninth when freshman Kyle McNiff (Westford, Mass.) singled down the left field live to score classmate Anthony Arrichiello (Yonkers, N.Y.), who reached on an error to start the inning.

The Yellow Jackets return to action Monday when they travel to Southern New Hampshire for a 3:30 p.m. Northeast-10 contest.
