Football Wins 11th Straight, Rolls Past Saint Anselm 37-6

Manchester, N.H. – The American Internationals College football team improved to 5-0 on the season and 3-0 in the Northeast-10 after recording a 37-6 victory at Saint Anselm Saturday afternoon. The win was the Yellow Jackets' 11th in a row, a streak began with a 44-21 win over Merrimack on October 6, 2007, tying the school-record for consecutive victories that was set during the 1974-75 seasons.

Freshman running back #Mike Mayo# (Roosevelt, N.Y.) carried the ball 30 times for season-high 196 yards and one touchdowns and sophomore quarterback #Rob Parent# (West Warwick, R.I.) completed 16-of-23 passes for 164 yards and two TDs. Grad wide receiver #Travis Poole# (Brooklyn, N.Y.) caught nine passes for 106 yards, marking his fourth 100-yard receiving game of the season, and also had two scores.

The Yellow Jackets got on the board first when Poole caught a 14-yard touchdown pass from Parent with 21-seconds remaining in the first quarter. AIC took a 14-0 lead after senior full back #Marcus Cameron# (Hempstead, N.Y.) pounded the ball in from three-yards out at the 6:31 mark of the second quarter for his first score of the day. He later scored on a one-yard run with 1:35 left in the third quarter.

The Yellow Jackets led 20-0 at the half after Mayo went over the top from a yard out and the PAT failed. Poole opened the second half scoring on a four-yard TD reception, giving AIC a commanding 27-0 lead.

The Hawks (0-5, 0-3 NE-10), who have now dropped 34 consecutive decisions dating back to the 2005 season, snapped the Yellow Jackets' bid for a shutout with 3:34 remaining in the third on a 37-yard scoring run by junior running back Luke St. Marie (Mill Creek, Wash.). He broke several tackles on the play, including one just before reaching the endzone.

Senior placekicker #Marek Przybylek# (Olsztyn, Poland) capped the scoring in the game with a 41-yard field goal 1:29 into the fourth quarter.

Junior linebacker #Rich Reichert# (Kings Park, N.Y.) registered a team-best 7.5 tackles, including six solo efforts, with two tackles for loss and a sack and junior defensive back #Mike Szawlowski# (Northampton, Mass.) had 5.5 tackles with two tackles for loss and one sack. Sophomore linebacker #Darius Evans# (Linden, N.J.) also had 5.5 tackles on the afternoon.

Junior linebacker Dan Bohenek (Bridgewater, Mass.) registered a game-high 8.5 tackles (six solo, five assisted) for Saint Anselm and had one forced fumble. Senior defensive lineman Conor O'Brien (Scituate, Mass.) recorded seven tackles (six solo, two assisted) and also forced a fumble.

AIC gained 251 yards on the ground and generated 415 yards of total offense while holding the Hawks to just 200 yards of total offense. The Yellow Jackets also had 22 first downs to Saint Anselm's 11.
