West Springfield, Mass. – The American International College men's ice hockey team lost to Air Force 3-1 on Saturday night. With the loss the Yellow Jackets record falls to 0-4-0 on the season and to 0-2-0 in Atlantic Hockey, while the win completed the weekend sweep for the Falcons and improved their record to 6-0-0 on the year and 4-0-0 in the conference. Senior #Tom Fenton# (Sarnia, ON.) stopped 28 shots for AIC in the loss.

Air Force jumped out to an early 1-0 lead when senior Josh Frider (Moorhead, Minn.) found the back of the net at 3:32 in the first period with assists from classmates Michael Mayra (Anchorage, Alaska) and Brent Olson (Baudette, Minn.). Sophomore Jacques Lamoureux (Grand Forks, N.D.) added two goals for the Falcons early in the second period to stretch the Air Force lead to 3-0.

With 28-seconds left in the game senior #Chad Richarson# (Regina, SK.) scored the Yellow Jackets only goal of the game to brake-up the shutout with assists from junior #Frankie DeAngelis# (Woodbridge, ON.) and sophomore #Steve McLeod# (Atikokan, ON.).

Junior Andrew Volkening (Genoa, Ill.) made 25 saves to record the victory for the Falcons.

AIC was outshot by Air Force 31-26 and 11-7 in the first period.
