SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - The American International College men's basketball team improved to 7-7 on the season and 4-5 in the Northeast-10 after registering an 83-74 win over Le Moyne Tuesday night at Butova Gymnasium. The Dolphins dropped to 7-4 overall and 5-4 in conference play. Sophomore forward

Sophomore forward Laurence Ekperigan (Cortlandt, Manor, N.Y.) matched Vanderhorst's game-high of 24 points on 10 of 15 shooting from the field and a four for four performance at the free throw line. Senior guard Jason Holmes (Mamaroneck, N.Y.) and sophomore guard Domani Corbin (Brooklyn, N.Y.) netted 18 and 10 points, respectively.
The game was tied at 8-all when AIC went on a 15-0 run to take a 23-8 lead at the 12:50 mark of the first half. The Yellow Jackets pushed their lead to as many as 19 points in the first half at 49-30 with a minute to go in the period and led 51-35 at halftime.
AIC led 61-43 on Senat's layup at the 13:50 mark of the second half, but Le Moyne finally answered with a 23-3 run of its own to take the lead at 66-64 with 5:43 to go in the game. The Yellow Jackets answered with a 10-2 run to regain control of the game and went on to win 81-72.
AIC shot an incredible 62.1 percent (18-29) from the floor and 66.7 percent (10-15) from 3-point range in the first half and finished the game shooting 52.9 percent (27-51) from the field and 48 percent (12-25) from long distance. Le Moyne shot 54.5 percent (18-33) in the second half as it attempted its comeback and shot 42 percent (29-69) for the game.
AIC will next travel to Southern Connecticut Saturday for a 3:30 p.m. Northeast-10 contest.
