Tom Mele (Bronx, N.Y.) scored his first collegiate goal but the Colonials of Robert Morris University downed the American International College ice hockey squad 10-2 Friday evening in a non-conference match-up in West Springfield. With the win the Colonials improve to 8-7-2 while the Yellow Jackets fall to 4-12-2.
Robert Morris turned on their engines early in the contest, scoring three times in the first period, the first of which came when Scott Kobialko took a pass from Kyle Feieday who was positioned behind the net, and poked the puck past the right shoulder of AIC freshman goalie

The Colonials scored twice more in the first period, making the score 3-0 going into the second frame. In the second period Robert Morris ripped off five goals, three of which were notched on the starter Ramirez and two came against his replacement in net junior

In the third frame, the Jackets came out and played with intensity. Mele tallied his first goal of the season at the 8:14 mark when he tipped home a slap-shot off of the stick of senior

Chris Bolognino (Carol Stream, Ill.) added one more score for the Yellow Jackets when he ripped home a slap shot directly off of a face-off feed from senior
Greg Genovese (Hingham, Mass.).
The Colonials added two more scores before the end of the game as Robert Morris won decidedly 10-2.
Fenton stopped 20 shots in net for the Yellow Jackets while Christian Boucher turned away 22 shots for RMU.
Dan Urban and Scott Kobialko both scored twice while Ryan Cruthers scored once and added two assists and Nathan Longpre, Andrew Bonello and Chris Margott each tallied a pair of assists in the win for the Colonials.
The two teams will conclude the series tomorrow evening at the Olympia Ice Center at 3:05 pm
