Box Score

West Springfield, Mass. - Four different Yellow Jackets scored as AIC moved to 3-8-2 overall and 3-6-1 in the AHA downing UConn 4-1 in an Atlantic Hockey contest Tuesday evening. The loss drops the Huskies to 4-9-1 overall and 3-7-1 in the AHA.

Yellow Jacket forward Greg Genovese (Hingham, Mass.) redirected a T.J. Smith (St. Anthony's, N.L.) slap-shot less than three minutes into the second-period to grab the contests first score. Just under a minute after the Genovese goal Chris Bolognino (Carol Stream, Ill.) intercepted a pass before flicking the puck over to Mike McMillan (Sault Ste. Marie, Ont.) who fired home AIC's second goal.

The Huskies cut the lead in half on the power-play at the 8:31 mark when Sean Erickson ripped a slap-shot past AIC goalie Dan Ramirez (Rochester, NY.), making the score 2-1 going into the third period.

The Huskies out shot the Yellow Jackets 11-10 in the second period, while the Yellow Jackets got off three more total shots in the game (25-22).

Mark Pavli (Sarnia, Ont.) notched his third goal of the season when he flicked the puck off of UConn goalie Beau Erickson's back from the side of the net five minutes into the third frame.

The goal made it 3-1 AIC. The Jackets would add one more goal when Bolognino tallied his fourth score of the year on an empty net with just 59 ticks remaining on the clock.

Ramirez turned away 21 shots earning his third victory of the season for the Yellow Jackets. Erickson stopped 21 shots as well as he fell to 4-9-1 overall.
