The Chargers (2-7-1) took the lead for good on junior forward Matt Sweazy's (Toronto, Ont.) power play goal from freshman forward Andrew Coburn (Mount Forest, Ont.) and junior defenseman Scott Kalinchuk (Bowsman, Man.) with 6:16 left in the third period. Sophomore forward Tom Train (Hurst, Texas) added an insurance goal for Alabama-Huntsville with 58 seconds remaining in the contest from sophomore forward Cale Tanaka (Stouffville, Ont.) and freshman forward Neil Ruffini (Roswell, Ga.).
The Chargers took a 1-0 lead with 3:04 remaining in the first period when Train scored on a wrap-around from behind the AIC net. Tanaka and senior forward Tyler Hilbert (Okotoks, Alb.) assisted on the play. AIC (2-6-2) drew even one-minute into the second period when senior forward
Bryan Jurynec (Orland Park, Ill.) tipped a shot from McMillan past Chargers' netminder Cameron Talbot (Caledonia, Ont.) for his first goal of the season. Sophomore defenseman

Alabama-Huntsville regained the lead at the 7:18 mark of the second period junior forward Joe Federoff (Pittsburgh, Pa.) passed from behind the net to sophomore defenseman Brandon Roshko (Hamilton, Ont.) who one-time the feed to a wide open Kalinchuk on the right side of the net. The junior defenseman tipped the puck into the net for first goal of the season. Sophomore forward Kevin Morrison (Mississauga, Ont.) gave the Chargers a 3-1 lead just 1:58 later off an AIC turnover in the neutral zone that resulting in a two-on-one break for Alabama-Huntsville.
The Yellow Jackets pulled back within one at 16:51 of the second period when senior forward
Brent Griffin (Leyden, Mass.) sent McMillan on a break away just after an AIC penalty expired. McMillan's goal was his fifth of the season and DeAngelis was also credited with an assist, giving him his first multi-point game of the season.
The Yellow Jackets then tied the contest with a power play goal at 11:07 of the third period when senior forward
Jereme Tendler (Viceroy, Sask.) carried the puck into the slot from the right face-off circle and beat Talbot stick-side. to score his fourth goal of the season. McMillan and freshman forward T.J. Smith (St. Anthony, N.F.) assisted on Tendler's fourth goal of the season.
Talbot finished with 31 saves in recording the first win of his collegiate career, while junior goalie
Tom Fenton (Sarnia, Ont.) recorded 29 saves in taking the loss.
