The first-period of the contest was scoreless with AIC ripping off the games' first 11 shots en-route to out shooting the Huskies 12-1 in the period.
After several Yellow Jackets peppered UConn goalie Beau Erickson with shots, sophomore

Tom Fenton (Sarnia, Ont.) on a one-timer shot.
UConn scored three more goals under three minutes after Olson tied the game. UConn forward Michael Coppola found himself on a breakaway after AIC surrendered the puck in their zone and scored a goal after beating Fenton one-on-one right in front of the net, making the score 2-1.
