Scott Foulis

Scott Foulis joined the AIC Athletics Department when he was named Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance in August 2022.

In his role, he ensures that the College’s athletic teams adhered to the rules of NCAA membership and meets the requirements of the conferences to which AIC belongs, with a primary focus on the Northeast 10 Conference. Foulis is also responsible for managing certifications for student-athletes and overseeing all other aspects of compliance. Additionally, he serves as the sport oversight for several of AIC’s teams and works on projects to support student-athletes academically.

He spent the 2024-25 athletic year serving as Interim Director of Athletics; in his one year at the helm of the department, the women's volleyball team won its third NE10 Regular Season and Tournament Championship in four years, the women's rugby team won the NIRA National Championship for the second time in four years, and the baseball team won the NE10 Southwest Division title, the first baseball title for the College since 1991. Additionally, AIC student-athletes excelled in the classroom under his leadership, with a departmental GPA of 3.25, including NE10-leading teams in men's golf, softball, and field hockey; the field hockey team was the nation's GPA leader for the second year in a row.

Foulis brings a wealth of experience to the position as a college coach and municipal recreation administrator. Most recently he worked as an administrative coordinator for the Wilbraham Parks and Recreation Department. In that capacity he helped develop and oversee a wide range of community-based sport, recreation, and activity programs.

He also brings over two decades of experience coaching women’s basketball at the NCAA Division I and Division III levels. He served as an assistant coach with the women's basketball team at Amherst College for the 2021-22 season, helping the team to the 2022 NCAA Division III Final Four. Prior to Amherst, he was the associate head women’s basketball coach at Brandeis University from 2007-21, where in addition to his coaching duties he taught classes in the physical education department. While at Brandeis he coached Jessica Chapin, who later became AIC Director of Athletics, with the team reaching the NCAA Division III Elite Eight in 2009.

Before Brandeis he made coaching stops at Springfield College, Bucknell University, the University of Massachusetts, and the University of Rhode Island. While at Springfield he was a graduate assistant in athletic administration and worked in the athletic department at Western New England College.

Foulis earned an undergraduate degree in sport management from the University of Massachusetts Amherst and his master’s in athletic administration from Springfield College. He and his wife Jill have three children - Chelsea, Evan, and Colin.
