Rich Reichert

Rich Reichert '10 returned to his alma mater as Defensive Coordinator/Cornerbacks coach prior to the start of the 2022 season.

In the decade between his graduation and his return, Reichert worked for programs across NCAA Divisions I, II, and III. Most recently, he was the defensive coordinator and cornerbacks coach for Long Island University in 2021; in 2020, he held the defensive coordinator title and coached defensive backs at the United States Merchant Marine Academy. His longest tenure was at Stony Brook University, where he coached a variety of aspects of the defense from 2013-19. He previously also coached at Rutgers and Western Michigan University. His players have earned significant individual and team accolades; he coached three All-NEC selections at Long Island, and many more at Stony Brook, including four players who reached the National Football League.

A standout at AIC as both a football and lacrosse player, Reichert led the 2008 team in tackles and earned Second-Team All-NE10 honors as AIC captured the conference title and made its first-ever NCAA Tournament appearance. During his senior campaign, he served as team captain. He was the recipient of the football team's Leonard J. Bailey Memorial Award, given to the team's defensive MVP, and the Unsung Hero Award from the men's lacrosse program.
