Mike Rafferty

Recruiting area: Vermont, New Hampshire, Maine

Mike Rafferty has been apart of the Yellow Jackets coaching staff since 2007. Rafferty has previously worked with the defensive line, as the Director of Football Operations, and became the wide receivers coach in 2016. He was also a three-year starter for AIC as a defensive tackle from 2003-06.
 
From 2007-09, Rafferty coached the wide receivers. During this time, AIC had one of the top offenses in the Northeast-10 and boasted a 16-game winning streak and a conference championship in 2008. During this time, Rafferty coached two Northeast-10 All-Conference players, one NE10 MVP, one ECAC Player of the Year, one Don Hansen Honorable Mention All-American, one Daktronics second team all-region player, and one New England Football Writers Association All-Star. 

From 2009-13 Rafferty coached the defensive line at AIC, which won a NE10 Conference Championship in 2012. Rafferty coached four first team All-Conference selections, one NE10 Defensive Lineman of the Year, one Don Hansen’s first team All-American, one NE10 Rookie of the Year, one Daktronics second team all-region, and one New England Writer’s All-Star. 
 
Mike returned to AIC in 2015 as the Director of Football operations before being named the wide receivers coach in 2016.
 
Mike is originally from Wheatley Heights, New York and attend Half Hollow Hills East High School where he was a standout football player and wrestler. He currently lives in Springfield, Massachusetts where he is a special education teach at Springfield Central High School.  In addition, he is an assistant coach for the wrestling team at Springfield Central, which has won four straight state championships, including this past year.
