Jill Sarm joined the Sports Medicine and Performance staff in January 2026 as associate athletic trainer.
Sarm comes to AIC following a recent six-year stretch at Elon University, beginning as an athletic training intern in 2019 and rising to the rank of assistant athletic trainer before the 2021 season and then associate athletic trainer and head football athletic trainer in 2023.
In that role, she delivered athletic training services to the NCAA Division I FCS Phoenix football team, overseeing staff athletic trainers and athletic training students who were assigned to the team. She additionally communicated with football coaches and staff on injury reports and rehabilitation plans, collaborated with the exercise science and health science departments for annual screenings, and utilized GPS tracking data for the student-athletes.
Prior to her time at Elon, Sarm worked at Clay-Battelle High School in Blacksville, West Virginia as a graduate assistant athletic trainer, where she was responsible for the middle and high school football teams, designing and implementing rehabilitation plans for injuries and determined appropriate injury referrals, as well as communicating with coaches, the athletic director, and team physician.
Sarm earned her bachelor of science in athletic training with minors in exercise science and athletic coaching from West Chester University of Pennsylvania in 2017, and then a master of science in athletic training from West Virginia University in 2019.
She is a board-certified athletic trainer and licensed in Massachusetts, Connecticut, and North Carolina, and has additional certifications in dry needling, Graston Technique, and the American Heart Association’s CPR and first aid certification, and is an AHA First Aid/CPR instructor. She has a Performance Enhancement Specialist certification from the National Academy of Sports Medicine and is National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians certified.
She is a member of the National Athletic Trainers’ Association, Eastern Athletic Trainers’ Association, North Carolina Athletic Trainers’ Association, and Pennsylvania Athletic Trainers’ Society.
