Hector Jose Reyes

Hector Jose Reyes was announced as the first head men's volleyball coach on Tuesday, January 19, 2021.

In his and the program's first season, AIC showed tremendous strides. After scoring the program's first-ever point in their first match by acing their first serve, the team secured its first win, a 3-0 sweep of Sage College, on February 5, 2022. That win featured a program-best 43 kills, 15 by freshman John Rivera Ortiz, and an 11-kill, 10-dig double double by rookie Ben Warren. 
 
Jose Reyes joined the volleyball family after spending that past four seasons at Iowa State University as the Technical Coordinator for Player Development. In his role he assisted the Cyclones program with opposition scouting and in-game analytics. Prior to his time at Iowa State the Puerto Rico native spent two seasons at Evansville University as an assistant coach.
 
Before his time with the Purple Aces, Jose worked with six different clubs in the US Territory including the men’s national team, the U18 women’s team, and the U21 men’s team. During his coaching career, he has worked with U.S. Olympians Destinee Hooker, Kim Glass and Ogonna Nnamani, Kristie Porter and 2002 men’s FIVB World Grand Prix MVP Marcos Milinkovic.
 
Jose Reyes graduated with a bachelors from the School of Fine Arts in San Jan, Puerto Rico in 2002 and earned his associates degree in business administration from the University of Puerto Rico in 1995.
