Christian Ferrara

American International College named Christian Ferrara the College's Strength and Conditioning Coordinator in August 2025.

Ferrara comes to AIC with a range of experience at the high school and collegiate level. He worked from 2022-2025 at nearby Western New England University as a strength and conditioning coach. With the Golden Bears he built specific training programs for each team, oversaw strength and speed development for all teams, and created individual nutrition plans based on a needs analysis.

He has also spent more than 10 years as the head of strength and conditioning at Springfield Central High School. With the Golden Eagles, he created team-specific training programs and managed strength and speed development for over 125 student-athletes, as well as teaching nutritional importance.

In addition to his collegiate and scholastic strength and conditioning experience, Ferrara has tremendous private-sector knowledge. He has owned 9-Strength-3 since 2019, where he is the head of strength and conditioning and oversees strength and speed development for baseball, ice hockey, and football teams, and oversees and builds nutritional training programs, as well as providing one-on-one trainings for athletes.

He previously worked at Advanced Performance Academy as the head of strength and conditioning, and as the head of the personal training department at Best Fitness.

Ferrara graduated from Syracuse University in 2004 with a bachelor's of exercise science. While at Syracuse, he was a defensive lineman for the Orange from 2000-2003, collecting 139 tackles including 30 tackles-for-loss.

As a senior in the 2003 season, he started all 12 games and garnered Second-Team All-Big East honors thanks to 16.5 tackles behind the line of scrimmage. He earned a spot in the Blue-Grey All-Star Classic and the East-West Shrine Game, as well as earning the University's Ben Schwartzwalder Award for being an exemplary football player.

Ultimately, his efforts led to the San Francisco 49ers selecting him with a seventh-round pick in the 2004 NFL Draft.

Ferrara is a certified strength and conditioning specialist and is certified by the National Academy of Sports Medicine. He his CPR and First-Aid certified by the American Heart Association.
