Andrea Samson was hired as an Assistant Athletic Trainer in September 2026.
Samson has a variety of collegiate and other athletic training experience. She was an athletic training student during the 2025-26 season for the University of Massachusetts-Amherst men’s ice hockey team, providing acute care in-game as well as injury evaluations and treatment throughout the season for the nation’s 16th-ranked team.
She also worked in the Springfield College Sport and Injury Rehabilitation Clinic in the spring of 2026, designing and instructing rehab programs for students that were tailored to recovering from their particular injuries as well as implementing sport-specific activities into the recovery.
Samson’s other collegiate and scholastic-level experience includes stints with Shriners Children’s of New England, the Williston Northampton School, Mount Holyoke College, and Springfield Central High School, and she was additionally a volunteer athletic trainer for the 130th running of the Boston Marathon in 2026.
Samson earned a bachelor of science in exercise science in 2025 from Springfield College, and a master of science in athletic training the following May at Springfield. She is a Board Certified Athletic Trainer, and carries an American Red Cross CPR Certification and a Stop The Bleed Certification.
