Jameson Bonti was promoted to Director of Rugby on July 28, 2025.
He was previously assistant men's rugby coach, joining the staff prior to the start of the 2022-23 season. As an assistant, he helped the squad reach the Liberty Rugby Conference postseason in all three 15s seasons and qualified for national tournaments for both 15s and 7s.
Multiple Yellow Jackets earned national recognition and opportunities with the help of Bonti's tutelage, including Demitrius Ta'ape earning a spot on the US U18 Sevens Rugby Team that competed at the Global Youth Sevens in December 2023 and a quartet of NCR All-Star selections in the most recent season. Four members of the men's team earned NCR Scholastic All-American honors for the 2024 campaign as well.
Bonti brings in significant rugby coaching and playing experience from his time prior to AIC. He served as a defensive coach for the NAV 7's Rugby program, as well as with the U-23 Panther Rugby 7's Academy, and in those roles was responsible for developing practice and training regimens for the team as well as scouting and film analysis. With the NAV 7's team he coached several current USA Eagles, with multiple top-10 finishes nationally, and won the USA Rugby 7s Men's National Championship with the team in August 2022.
He also served as the head ccoach of the Carolina Geographic Rugby Union Selects Program and the Tobacco Road Rugby Club, where he led those programs to improve player development and feedback as well as creating systems of play for the team.
In addition, Bonti has served as the Sports, Teens & Outreach Director for the YMCA, where his duties included fundraising, managing budgets, working with at-risk youth, and developing the culture of the staff.
Bonti graduated from nearby Springfield College with a degree in sociology in 2016. While at Springfield, he was a captain as a senior and earned Goff Rugby Report All-American status. His team reached the club national round of 16, the highest finish in Pride history.
Bonti is a Level 200 USA Rugby Certified Coach currently working on his Level 300 Certification.Â
