SOUTH HADLEY, Massachusetts - The American International College men's golf team opened the 2026-27 season by hosting a three-round tournament at The Ledges Golf Course. AIC's A squad took third place as a team, and Ezequiel Gonzalez shot a five-under 211 across the 54 holes to finish second in his NCAA debut on September 9-10.

AIC's A squad was led by Ingman Schenau and Jeroen van oort. Both carded at least one round at or below par; Scheneau shot a two-under 70 in his second run through the course on the first day, while van Oort was one-under at 71 in his first round and an even 72 in his second.

But AIC's top performance belonged to Gonzalez. He was a stellar four-under to open the tournament and then rolled through the second round with a three-under score; the 68-69 combo had him in the lead after 36 holes. However, Post's Phillip Granum birdied the final hole on day three to finish one stroke ahead of Gonzalez at the last moment.

As a team, AIC's 12 golfers posted 93 birdies and a pair of eagles; Aaron Ryniec needed just two shots to finish the 430-yard par-four 13th hole in the third round, while Gonzalez needed just three shots on the par-5 18th hole in his opening round.
