SPRINGFIELD, Massachusetts - American International College held its 2025-26 Academic Awards on Tuesday, April 21 at the Esther B. Griswold Theater, and 21 AIC student-athletes from 15 teams were among the winners for outstanding academic achievement during the year.
Nearly every award from the School of Business, Arts & Sciences Division of Business went to student-athletes or those who are parts of teams in other ways. Alexander Bergman, who is serving as a manager for the men's volleyball team, started off the night by winning the S. George Trager and Sidney C. Trager Award for Academic Excellence in Accounting. The Robert J. Sartwell Memorial Award for Academic Achievement in General Business Studies was presented to
Nicole Widegren of women's cross country, and the Superior Performance in Economics and Finance Award was given to
Andrew Morris of men's golf.
The award for Superior Performance in Healthcare Management went to women's soccer's
Julianna Magalhaes, while Juan Carrazana of men's rugby earned Outstanding Performance in International Business and
Rebecca Toure of women's track and field garnered the American Marketing Association Award for Outstanding Achievement in Marketing Studies.
Shai Cohen of baseball closed the Division of Business Awards by taking the Distinguished Senior In Sports and Recreation Management honor.
From the Division of Arts, Media and Design, two student-athletes were lauded;
Quinlyn Moll of field hockey earned Outstanding Achievement in Graphic Arts & Design, while
Camden MacDonald of men's lacrosse won The Yellow Jacket Newspaper Award for Excellence in Journalism.
The Division of Social and Life Sciences gave four student-athletes awards;
Jemima Lacroix of women's basketball earned the Lee Sirois Research Award in psychology, while softball co-captains
Jilien Ayala and
Julia Krijgsman won the Outstanding Achievement in Criminal Justice and the Dr. James Brennan Award, respectively. Rounding out that quartet was men's lacrosse senior
Ryan Levis, who earned the Outstanding Achievement in Athletic Administration and Leadership honor.
The Alpha Chi Award went to
Carlashia Owens of women's rugby.
From the School of Health Sciences, every Division saw an award given to student-athletes. Women's soccer and women's lacrosse senior
Ava Boldi garnered a pair of awards within the Division of Nursing, earning the Lillian Soloman Award and the Leadership in Nursing Award. The Division of Undergraduate Physical Therapy's UPT Academic Excellence Awards went to
Destiny Campbell of women's lacrosse and Kegan McGonigle of men's soccer, while the Division of Occupational Therapy's OT Academic Excellence Award was won by field hockey and acrobatics & tumbling senior
Kylee Rinker.
Lily Shields of women's soccer and women's lacrosse took the Excercise Science Excellence Award from the Division of Health and Human Performance.
Closing out the awards was the Schoof of Education, where women's soccer senior Kaitlin McDonald earned the Education Academic Award.Â
