SPRINGFIELD, Massachusetts - The American International College softball team dropped a four-game set with Frankin Pierce University in Northeast 10 Conference play, falling 11-0 and 17-1 on Friday, March 27 and then 13-0 and 1-0 on Sunday, March 29.
AIC is now 4-16 overall and 0-8 in the NE10.
Belen Benito drove in AIC's lone run on the weekend, smacking a single to center in the second inning of the second game after
Jilien Ayala doubled and
Isabel Kahli Robinson hit an infield single.
Gabrielle Lambert threw a gem in the series finale, holding the Ravens powerful offense to just a pair of hits and three total baserunners, going the distance on just 74 pitches.
AIC returns to play on Tuesday, March 31 at 2:30 p.m. at Southern Connecticut State University for the first game of a doubleheader with the Owls.Â
