GLOUCESTER, Massachusetts – Eighteen members of the American International College ice hockey team were named 2024-25 Krampade/AHCA All-American Scholars by the American Hockey Coaches Association, the organization announced on Wednesday, July 2.
The Yellow Jackets led all men's ice hockey teams at the Division I level in selections, and have the second-most overall behind only the Lindenwood University women's ice hockey team, which had 19.
To qualify, student-athletes must play at an AHCA member school, obtain at least a 3.75 GPA on a four-point scale for each semester of the academic year, and appear in at least 40 percent of their team's games; the last requirement is waived in cases of injuries and for goalkeepers.
AIC had three graduate students honored in
Jordan Biro,
Lauri Sertti, and
Danny Weight, along with senior
Oscar Geschwind. The junior class featured eight selections:
Brett Bamber,
Josh Barnes,
Blake Dangos,
Alexander Malinowski,
Casey McDonald,
David Posma,
Brett Rylance, and
Noah Serdachny.
For underclassmen,
Peyton Grainer and
Alfred Lindberg represented the sophomores, while
Wilhelm Forsberg,
Tobias Larsen,
Adam Manji, and
Justin Mexico were selected out of the freshmen class.
Biro earned the accolade for the third time at AIC, as did Malinowski and Barnes. Geschwind, Grainer, and Lindberg each earned their second nods.
The award has been given since the 2016-17 season, with AIC having earned 115 selections in those years.
