HAMDEN, Connecticut - Facing off against one of the most storied programs in the sport, the American International College acrobatics and tumbling set a season record for points in a 274.960-33.625 loss at No. 3 Quinnipiac University on Friday, March 28.
The Yellow Jackets close their inaugural season at 0-5.
AIC set new high-water marks in several events. The Yellow Jackets scored 4.500 points in the cumpulsory acrobatics heat, and then totaled 13.650 points between the 5-element, 6-element, and 7-element acrobatics heats, for a total of 18.150 points before the halftime break, the most in a half on the season.
The second half featured 15.475 points in three of the tumbling heats, with Miranda Pues leading the charge by scoring 6.875 points on the open pass.
The Bobcats, who are now 6-1 on the season, also bested their season high in scoring, including back-to-back 9.800 scores in the 6-element pass and the open pass to close out the tumbling section of the event.
