HOW IT HAPPENED:
Game 1:
  • The first three innings were evenly matched between the Setters and Yellow Jackets as we stayed scoreless up until the bottom of the fourth.
  • An error at third base by Pace allowed Alexis Jimenez, the go-ahead run, to move to second, followed by a single by Berman that brought Jimenez home and open up the scoring 1-0.
  • Kaylani Miller had a lead-off double in the fifth, followed by a Juliet Bernstein single that allowed Pace to tie it up as Miller sat on third. A pair of stolen bases gave Miller the go-ahead and tied it up at one.
  • A sacrifice fly to centerfield by Isabelle Boudreau brought Bernstein home and the score to 2-1 Setters.
  • The bottom of the fifth had Olivia Ortega 60 feet from home. She touched home on a sacrifice fly by Brianna Rivera that was dropped by the Setters. Brianna Harzula pinch ran for Rivera.
  • Harzula scored on a double by Jimenez giving the Yellow Jackets a 3-2 lead. Then Jimenez scored herself, on a single by Kodi Gora to put AIC up 4-2.
  • The sixth was where the Setters made their stand and evened the score at four with a home run by Miller with Iverson on third.
  • The Yellow Jackets reclaimed the lead in the bottom of the sixth when Abby Wells scored on a flyout sacrifice by Ortega.
  • The Setters tied it up at five when Sammi Swenson entered the game as a pinch-runner for NancyAnn Revilla, scoring on a throwing error at third. Walkingstick had the last run of the night on a double by Carruth to make the final score 6-5 Setters.
Game 2:
  • A lead-off home run opened up the scoring as Jalia Santos hits one over the fence in left that gave AIC the 1-0 lead.
  • The Setters' tied it up at one as Bernstein grounded out at second, giving Miller the opportunity to run home.
  • The top of the sixth had Pace feeling good as they took the lead 4-1 thanks to three back-to-back runs from Alexandra Monteleon, Miller, and Pederson.
  • After a strong showing by Jones in the top of the seventh, the Yellow Jackets started clawing away at the Setters lead starting with Wells who was on second due to a pair of walks by the Setters' Acevedo. Wells cut the Setters lead by one, making it 4-2 on a single by Allison.
  • Santos was next to close the gap by one as the bases were loaded and Jimenez hit a single, bringing the score to 4-3.
  • Allison tied it up for the Yellow Jackets as Victoria Andrade was walked by Garrick with the bases loaded.
  • The winning run was credited to Harzula, when an error by the Setters left her enough time and space to bring it home, and gave AIC the 6-5 victory.
