HOW IT HAPPENED:
- After a scoreless first period, the Friars broke the ice in the second. Shortly after a power play ended, Cam McDonald deflected a puck into the net from just above the left post to give his squad a 1-0 lead.
- In the third, the home side had a chance to extend its advantage with a power play, but instead the Yellow Jackets turned the tables. Graduate student Brian Rigali forced the puck up the right wing and his classmate Chris Dodero carried to the netmouth, sliding the puck through goalkeeper Jaxson Stauber for his fourth of the year at 7:46.
- In overtime, the Friars took the extra point; it was McDonald again, whipping home the winner at 2:03 from the top of the slot.
GO SHORTY:
- Dodero's man-down tally was AIC's first of the season, and also the first shorthanded goal given up by the Friars in the 2021-22 campaign.
- His fourth tally of the season leads the team, and three have been special teams goals, with two of the prior three coming with AIC on the advantage.
BUILDING BLOCKS:
- The Yellow Jackets blocked a season-high-tying 25 shots in the game.
- Team captain Parker Revering led the team with four, while juniors Brett Callahan and Jake Stella had three, as did Dodero.
