HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • AIC's offense did not wait to get going, striking in the second minute of play as redshirt junior Justin Cole lit the lamp at 1:28 with assists from sophomore Jake Stella and junior Parker Revering.
  • The Yellow Jackets then found themselves on a five-on-three power play and cashed in, as senior Brennan Kapcheck moved the puck low to high to defense partner sophomore Brett Callahan, and senior Tobias Fladeby one-timed Callahan's cross pass into the net for his eighth of the year at 3:48.
  • Only 40 seconds later, the man-up unit struck again; this time it was redshirt sophomore Zak Galambos on the doorstep to bang in the rebound of a shot by senior Chris Dodero set up by freshman Michal Stinil.
  • Army's Colin Bilek blunted AIC's momentum late in the first, one-timing home a power play goal at 15:34 right off the initial faceoff.
  • In the second, AIC's power play went to work again and struck twice on a major penalty, as freshman Jan Kern notched his first collegiate goal at 5:18 from Callahan and Kapcheck, and Galambos was set up by Stella and Dodero for his second of the game and season at 6:16.
  • Stella and Stinil added to their assist totals late in the period, and Cole ripped home his second goal of the game and season at 17:32 to give AIC a 6-1 margin.
  • Army's Daniel Haider and Mitch Machlitt scored late in the game, but the Yellow Jackets still skated away with three more standings points.

SEVEN PAIRS:
  • Sevenplayers Callahan, Galambos, Stinil, Cole, Kapcheck, Stella, and Dodero each notched multipoint games, with Stella racking up a hat trick of helpers.
  • Stella's three-assist game is the team's second of the year, after junior Elijiah Barriga collected three at Bentley on December 18, 2020.
  • Galambos and Kern each notched their first goals with AIC.

NEXT UP:
