HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Golden Knights scored the first basket of the game, but junior guard Nyrie Holliman answered with a three on the opposite side. Trailing 4-3, the Yellow Jackets went on an 11-4 run over the last 5:09 of the quarter. During the run, senior guard Rashana Siders dropped six-points while Holliman added three and junior forward Asia Turner hit a jumper.
- The run continued into the first four minutes of the second quarter as AIC went ahead 19-10. The Yellow Jackets led 21-14 with under two minutes on the clock when senior guard Nadia Wooten hit a layup to extend the lead. Saint Rose hit a jumper on the other end, but Wooten swished a three off the pass from Siders to take the points back. With 20 seconds remaining in the half, the home team hit a jumper to make it 26-18, which was the score at the break.
- Freshman guard Kayla Robinson opened the scoring with a jumper 15 seconds into the quarter. Saint Rose went down to the other end and knocked down a three. 23 seconds later, Turner hit a jumper to round out the first minute of play in the quarter. AIC forced a turnover and converted with a three by Robinson to make it 33-21. The Yellow Jackets continued to control the ebb and flow of the game as they ended the third quarter on a 12-7 run over the last five minutes with Perry tying the Golden Knights by herself. With 10 minutes left in the game, the Yellow Jackets led 53-35.
- While the Yellow Jackets scored first in the final stanza, the Golden Knights started to heat up. Over the next four minutes, the home team used a 12-1 run to pull within nine, 56-47, as they looked to spoil AIC's playoff hopes. Siders snapped the run with a pair of free throws at 4:50. Including the Siders free throws, the Yellow Jackets went 8-12 from the line while forcing the home team to shoot 2-for-10 from the field, including 0-for-3 from deep, over the last five minutes of the game as AIC took the game 64-54.
