HOW IT HAPPENED:
Game 1:
- AIC got on the board in the first inning. Senior Sarah Baganz hit a one-out double down the right field line to start things. Freshman Victoria Andrade singled to left center and drove Baganz home.
- The Skyhawks started their scoring in the bottom of the second. They took advantage of the only AIC error of the game as they combined that with three hits to take the 2-1 lead.
- After Stonehill added a run in the bottom of the third, the Yellow Jackets started to chip away. After sophomore Makaylah Mutz singled to lead off the inning, sophomore pitcher Kacie Allison doubled down the right field line that allowed Mutz to score. With runners on second and third, junior Olivia Gonzalez grounded into a double play that allowed Allison to tie the game.
- The Skyhawks took the 6-3 lead in the bottom of the fourth on a three-run home run. In the remaining innings, AIC couldn't get on the board, falling 6-3 in game one.
Game 2:
- The Skyhawks were on the board first in the second game. They led things off with a double down the left field line before a sacrifice bunt, and a steal home made it a 1-0 game.
- Sophomore Brianna Rivera had the Yellow Jackets' first hit of the game in the top of the second when she singled to center. The Yellow Jackets had one hit in the next three innings but were unable to drive a run in.
- The Skyhawks shut the door in the bottom of the seventh to take the game 1-0.
