SPRINGFIELD, Massachusetts The American International College softball team lost its season finale against Pace University in a Northeast-10 Conference Southwest Division matchup at Judy Groff Field on Sunday, April 28.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Pace scored the first run of the game in the second inning using small ball, with a single, a sacrifice bunt, a passed ball, and another single to take a 1-0 lead.
- In the fourth, the Setters led off with a walk, but a sacrifice bunt attempt went awry as sophomore Brianna Rivera caught the bunt and threw to senior Sarah Baganz at first to turn a double play.
- The Setters kept pushing, hitting three straight singles to take a 3-0 lead.
- In the fifth, the Setters took advantage of a hit batter and a single to score another run.
- Rivera led off the bottom of the fifth with a wall-ball double; senior Kaley Kempf followed that with a single, and senior Ashley Hughes hit a single as well to bring in a run.
- Pace added a run in the sixth and four in the seventh to win 9-1.
