Women's rugby wins plate division at Crimson 7s

CAMBRIDGE, Massachusetts- The American International College women's rugby team bounced back into action on Saturday, March 30 at the Crimson 7s hosted by Harvard University. The Yellow Jackets went 3-2 on the day and won the Plate Division.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
Game 1 vs. Army:
  • The Yellow Jackets found the try zone twice in the first half but fell 22-10.
Game 2 vs. Dartmouth
  • Senior Elizabeth Harvey scored six minutes into game, but her score alone was not enough to lift the Yellow Jackets as they fell 31-5.
Game 3 vs. Molloy
  • The Yellow Jackets got on the board four times in the first half to make it 26-0 at the break on their way to a 40-5 win.
Game 4 vs. Sacred Heart
  • The Yellow Jackets had an impressive five tries in the first half against the Pioneers. AIC's first-half explosiveness was too much as they took the game 45-5.
Game 5 vs. Molloy
  • The Yellow Jackets and Lions met in the Plate Division title. AIC took the lead 30 seconds in and never looked back as the Yellow Jackets took the game 26-5.
