HOW IT HAPPENED:
- AIC jumped out to a lead quickly, as junior left wing Blake Christensen started a breakout with a pass to sophomore right wing Tobias Fladeby; Fladeby quickly redirected the puck to junior center Joel Kocur, who snuck behind the defense and pulled the puck to his forehand and around Sun Devils goalkeeper Joey Daccord at 1:36 for his seventh of the season.
- The Sun Devils quickly leveled the score, as Johnny Walker one-timed his nation-leading 23rd home on the power play at 3:50 of the first.
- The teams played even for over half an hour after the second goal, but late in the second frame, the Sun Devils went on a 2-on-0 breakaway during a 4-on-4 situation, and Demetrios Koumontzis scored at 16:48. Just 1:13 later, with Arizona State on the power play, Joshua Maniscalco doubled the lead.
- AIC fought hard in the third, outshooting the hosts 9-6, but the only goal of the period was an empty-net tally by Dylan Hollman at 19:54 to seal the 4-1 result.
CHRISTENSEN KEEPS GOING:
- With everyone that has played in the Division I-era of the program behind him, Christensen extended his own points record with his 38th of the season. The assist leaves him one off the record of 26 set by David Norris during the 2013-14 season.
- During his current six-game point streak, he has five goals and six assists for 11 points.
- Though tonight's assist does not count toward the total, Christensen remains the league leader in assists and points in Atlantic Hockey play with 23 and 35.
