SPRINGFIELD, Massachusetts The American International College women's basketball team bounced back after dropping their last two games as they defeated Saint Michael's College 65-46 on Saturday, January 12.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Yellow Jackets came firing on all cylinders as senior guard Dominique Boyd nailed a right corner three on the opening possession. AIC held the Purple Knights scoreless for the first four and a half minutes when they stopped the Yellow Jackets' 9-0 run. After the first 10 minutes of play, AIC led 16-3.
- St. Michael's opened the second quarter with two baskets that got them to within 10, 18-8, with 8:38 left in the second quarter. The Yellow Jackets continued to roll as they grew their lead to 20 as they went into the break, 36-16.
- Out of the break, St. Michael's came out and scored the first points of the half to make it a 36-22 game as the Yellow Jackets called a time out. However, the Yellow Jackets kept the Purple Knights at an arm's length as they extended their lead to as many as 23. After 30 minutes of play, AIC led 54-34.
- The fourth quarter did not see the scoreboard change as much as the other quarters. The Yellow Jackets came away with a key NE10 win, 65-46
BUZZWORTHY:
- With her double-double today, Watts recorded her fourth straight game with a double-double, and tenth game this season.
- Junior guard Rashana Siders' 17 points is her third best mark of the season. She scored 21 points against Queens College and 19 against Adelphi University.
- Senior forward Dana Watts recorded her 1,000th career rebound as a Yellow Jacket against Stonehill College on January 9. With her 17 rebound performance against St. Michael's, she jumped Sharmion Selman for third all-time program history in rebounds.
MILESTONE WATCH
- Watts is currently third in AIC history for field goals made with 659, sitting behind Selman (827) and Juana Garcia (894).
- Watts is in sole possession of the free throws made record with 563 in just 105 games. Current AIC head coach Kristen Hutchison is second on the list with 511 made free throws in 120 games.
- Watts is second in defensive rebounds with 685, behind Garcia, who holds the record AIC record with (726).
- Watts is seventh all-time in offensive rebounds with 335, eighth in blocks with 119, and 11th in minutes played with 3,012.
