HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Yellow Jackets looked like they might draw first blood when they went on a power play with just under five minutes remaining in the first, but it was RIT who struck, as Alden Dupuis netted a shorthanded tally at 17:11 to put RIT up 1-0.
- Neither team scored in the second, but in the third, sophomore goalkeeper Stefano Durante fired a pass to junior defenseman Janis Jaks, who in turn sprung junior center Hugo Reinhardt for the tying marker at 4:09.
- Unfortunately for AIC, the tie lasted fewer than three minutes; Dupuis set up Darren Brady for a goal at 6:52 that proved decisive in the 2-1 win for the Tigers.
NOT-SO-SPECIAL TEAMS:
- Both AIC and RIT went 0-for-5 with the man advantage in the contest.
- AIC allowed one shorthanded goal on three shorthanded shots, while RIT allowed AIC to take five shots while down a man.
- RIT's first power play of the game was the only one of its five that the Tigers had more shots in the two-minute advantage than the Yellow Jackets did, and the hosts were actually outshot on their own power play twice.
NEXT UP:
- The two teams conclude the weekend series on Saturday, November 10, with a 5:05 p.m. puck drop scheduled.
