PHILADELPHIA- The American International College women's basketball team dropped their season opener to No. 15 University of the Sciences 60-51 on Friday, November 9 in Philadelphia.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- AIC started out strong against No. 15 USciences, outscoring the Devils by seven in the first quarter.
- Senior forward Dana Watts led the Yellow Jackets with 11 first quarter points. Watts scored over half of AIC's points, leading USciences 20-13 after the first quarter.
- In the second quarter, the Devils began to click, going on a 7-0 run to start the quarter.
- The Yellow Jackets would eventually lose their lead, going into the half trailing the Devils 31-25;
- At the 7:07 mark in the third, AIC cut their deficit to just three points, but USciences would start to pull away and lead by 12, the largest lead of the game with 2:30 remaining in the third quarter.
- AIC trailed 47-36 going into the fourth quarter.
- After being down as many as 12 points with just over five minutes to go in the final quarter, the Yellow Jackets began to cut into the deficit and found themselves down seven with a 1:11 remaining.
- It was too late for the last minute rally, as USciences handed AIC their first loss of the season, falling 60-51.
