HOW IT HAPPENED:
- On the first Penmen possession of the game, SNHU hit a jumper to put the team ahead 12 seconds into the game. The Penmen continued their run by scoring off two AIC turnovers and forcing an AIC timeout at the 8:32 mark, with SNHU leading 6-0. Immediately out of the timeout, junior forward Dana Watts got the offensive rebound and put it back up to get the Yellow Jackets on the board. After a defensive stop, sophomore guard Rashana Siders knocked down the deep ball to make it a one-point game, 6-5. The AIC run didn't stop there, as junior guard Alyssa Guyon swished a three to give the Yellow Jackets their first lead of the game, 8-6, with a little over seven minutes left. The Penmen took control of the quarter from there, though, and ended the first leading 25-15.
- The Penmen lead kept growing in the first couple of minutes in the second quarter, as they made it 27-15. With 6:10 left in the half, AIC started to make a comeback. Freshman guard Nyrie Holliman kicked things off with a jumper, followed by a pair of Watts free throws. Junior forward Tianna Conway added a layup to make it a three-point game, 31-28, with 4:30 on the clock. Guyon scored five straight points to give AIC the 35-34 lead with a minute left in the opening frame before Watts made it a three-point game with a layup. The Penmen scored a layup with eight seconds left to make it a one-point game at the half.
- SNHU wasted no time regaining the lead, as 20 seconds into the second half, it laid one in to take the one-point lead. The teams traded single-possession leads in the first five minutes of the second half before SNHU took a five-point lead with 4:55 showing on the clock. After three quarters, the Penmen led 50-43.
- The Yellow Jackets kept cutting the Penmen lead down to single digits, but when big shots were needed, SNHU knocked them down to take the game by a score of 68-58.
