HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Colonials dominated the first period, outshooting the Yellow Jackets 9-3 and recording a power-play goal - their third of the weekend - to hold a 1-0 lead entering the first intermission.
- Kocur had a breakaway attempt at 7:58 of the second period, but his chance was stopped by a sprawling Robert Morris goaltender Francis Marotte.
- Though AIC outshot the Colonials 12-5 in the second period, RMU pushed its lead to 2-0 at the 11:39 mark of the frame off a goal from Michael Louria. The Colonials then added another power-play goal at 3:03 of the third period to make it a 3-0 game.
- RMU added an empty-netter with 4:39 left in the contest to push the lead to 4-0.
BUZZWORTHY:
- This is the first time this season that AIC has been shut out in a contest.
- AIC was outshot 23-19 in the contest, marking the first time this year the Yellow Jackets have been held under 20 shots on goal in a game.
NEXT UP:
- AIC returns home to the MassMutual Center for a post-Thanksgiving series against Niagara University. The Friday, November 24 game is set for 2 p.m., while the Saturday, November 25 game will be played at 7 p.m.
