LAS VEGAS, Nev. The American International College women's rugby squad advances past pool play with dominating opening day going 3-0 without allowing their opponents a single point.
The Jackets outscored their opponents 101-0 on the day.
AIC opened the day with a commanding 45-0 triumph over Utah Valley State before edging out B3 14-0 and closing the day with a 42-0 blanking of the Midwest Thunderbirds.
Sisters Anne-Laurence Harvey (Quebec, Canada) and Elizabeth Harvey (Quebec, Canada) paced the offense with seven tries and eight conversions between them.
It was Elizabeth opening the scoring in game-one, but Anne followed right behind before sophomore Kayla Clark (Olympia, Wash.) sandwiched a try in between the sisters who scored again while sophomore Shamira Robles (Bronx, N.Y.) and freshman Hilaria Lymas (Staten Island, N.Y.) closed out the scoring in the opener.
Junior Domonique Cammock (Bronx, N.Y.) and freshman Bulou Mataitoga (Richmond, Calif.) also added tries in the third game with Mataitoga going 3-for-3 on conversions as well.
The Jackets advance to the quarterfinals and will face Arizona on Friday morning.
