SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - The American International College women's basketball team can break their all-time best start (11-0) with a win over the University of New Haven Saturday at Butova Gymnasium for a 1:30 p.m. tip-off.

Brianna Bishop (Suffield, Conn.) knocked down her only two three-point attempts and notched a team-high 14 points in the Yellow Jackets 11th straight win Wednesday at Dominican, 60-51.
ABOUT AIC: With their win at Dominican Wednesday, the 2015-16 women's basketball team matched a program-best 11-0 start set by the 2005-06 Yellow Jackets squad. That same team advanced all the way to the NCAA Division II National Championship game and was inducted into the AIC Athletics Hall of Fame Class of 2015. Bishop continues to lead the team in scoring (15.0 PPG) while shooting 40.4 percent from the floor and 41.9 percent from long range. SWARMING DEFENSE: AIC is allowing opponents just 49.6 points-per-game and has held 9-of-11 to under 60 points. Bridgeport (62) and Le Moyne (60) are the only foes to break the 60-point barrier.
SCOUTING THE CHARGERS: New Haven visits Butova after just a days rest, having defeated Saint Anselm on the road Thursday, 65-40. The Chargers tend to start the games quickly, outscoring opponents in the opening stanza this season, 189-150. Briana Bradford paces the offense (17.5 PPG) of 41.0 percent shooting. Lauren Hebert (12.3) and Alexandria Kerr (10.6) are te other two Chargers averaging doubel figures, while grabbing 7.1 and 6.5 rebounds-game, respectively.
THE LAST MEETING: Bishop scored 14 of the final 17 AIC points, including four three's, to upend the 23rd ranked Chargers in a NE-10 Championship Semifinal road win in West Haven last March, 76-73. Bishop finished with 24, while
Krista Ferrentino ('15) registered a game-high 26 points. Bishop connected on 6-9 from behind the arc and went 9-13 from the field for the game. NE-10 Player of the Year Aquillin Hayes scored 21 points in the losing effort. AIC had lost the two regular season matchups to New Haven before down the Chargers in the postseason.
