MANSFIELD, Mass. American International College senior guard Brianna Bishop (Suffield, Conn.) was tabbed the Northeast-10 Women's Basketball Player of the Week announced by the league office Monday afternoon.
Bishop helped lead the Yellow Jackets over NE-10 rival Southern Connecticut State on the road in their lone game of the week, 67-51. She went 9-18 from the floor, including an impressive 5-7 (71.4%) from three for a game-high 23 points. The fourth year player made three steals, grabbed two boards and dished an assist as AIC moved to 3-0 on the year.
Bishop, an honor roll selection last week, currently leads the conference in scoring with19.3 points-game.
The Yellow Jackets look to keep the hot streak going when they travel to the University of Bridgeport Monday night for a non-conference contest with the Purple Knights. Tip-off is slated for 6 p.m. AIC returns to NE-10 action Wednesday, Dec. 2 when Pace University visits Butova Gymnasium before hitting the road again Saturday, Dec. 5 for another out of league date at Queens College.
