SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - The American International College women's tennis team earned three points against Franklin Pierce on senior day Sunday in a 6-3 loss to the Ravens in a Northeast-10 match at Central High.
With the loss AIC falls to 1-9 this season, while with the win Franklin Pierce moves to 1-8 this season and 1-7 in NE-10 matches.

Ana Paula Simoes (Brasilia, Brazil) earned her sixth win at No. 1 singles (6-3) with a win over Raven Sonia Rodrigues, 6-1 and 6-3. Junior
Eleanna Fulop (Anixi-Attiki, Greece) also played a brilliant match, downing Franklin Pierce's Kara Brazel, 6-0 and 6-3. The Jacket duo teamed up to start the match at first doubles and won handily over Brazel and Rodrigues, 8-3.
Both AIC senior newcomers,
Whitney McKay (Painted Post, N.Y.) and
Callie Porcher (Chuluota, Fla.) won games against their Raven counterparts in the final home match of their young careers.
The Yellow Jackets finish off the season with two road matches at Saint Anselm Tuesday, Oct. 6 and at Saint Michael's Saturday, Oct. 10.
