Atlantic Hockey Standings
HAVERHILL, Mass. – The American International College men's ice hockey team will travel to Robert Morris March 2-4 for the first round of the 2012 Atlantic Hockey Championship tournament, it was announced by the conference office. The puck will drop at 7:35 p.m. at Clearview Arena in Pittsburgh, Pa.
The Colonials finished the regular season with an overall record of 15-14-5, including a 13-9-5 mark in conference play. The Yellow Jackets went 7-24-3 overall and were 6-18-3 in the AHA.
The Yellow Jackets split the weekend series at Robert Morris earlier this season, with both teams winning by a final score of 2-0. The Colonials earned the win in game one, while AIC took game two. This marks the first-ever playoff meeting between the two teams.
The other first round games will see Holy Cross host Army, Bentley host Sacred Heart and Connecticut host Canisius. Each of those games will also take place March 2-4 at 7:05 p.m.
The winner off this best of three series will advance to the quarterfinals which will be re-seeded following the first round tournament games.
