WEST SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – The American International College men's ice hockey team dropped a 5-2 decision with the College of Holy Cross on Friday night in an Atlantic Hockey contest. The Yellow Jackets drop to 6-16-1 overall and 6-13-1 in Atlantic Hockey, while the win improves the Crusaders record to 10-14-3 overall and 9-8-3 in conference play.
Holy Cross got out to an early 2-0 lead going into the second period. Sophomore forward Brandon Nunn (Fairport, N.Y.) found the back of the net 12:05 into the first period off a pass from sophomore forward Rob Linsmayer (Winnetka, Ill.) and junior defenseman Matt Clune (Toronto, Ont.). Linsmayer was a mutlitple point player tonight for the Crusaders, scoring their second goal of the night 19:44 in the first. The Crusaders took the lead into the second period.

Michael Penny (Calgary, Alb.) flicked the puck past senior goalie Adam Roy (Feeding Hills, Mass.) off a dish from junior forward
Nielsson Arcibal (Vista, Calif.) and sophomore forward
Adam Pleskach (Beausejour, Man.). Nunn then scored again for Holy Cross to make it a 3-1 game 13:39 into the second.
Sophomore defenseman
Chris Markiewicz (Calgary, Alb.) scored the Yellow Jackets last goal of the night just 28 seconds into the third period. Penny and Arcibal earned the assists on Markiewicz goal for their second point of the night.
Sophomore forward Kyle Fletcher (Kanata, Ont.) and Linsmayer closed the scoring, giving the Crusaders the 5-2 victory. Linsmayer and Nunn both had a five point night with two goals and five assists, while Fletcher had a three point night with one goal and two assists.

Ben Meisner (Halifax, N.S.) made 37 saves in the loss for the Yellow Jackets, while Roy stopped 17 in the victory for Holy Cross.
The Crusaders outshot AIC 42-19.
AIC will finish the weekend series on Saturday night February 5th for a 7:05 p.m. Atlantic Hockey Contest in Worcester, Mass at Holy Cross.
