EAST HARTFORD, Conn. – The American International College men's ice hockey team dropped a 4-1 Atlantic Hockey Association contest to Army Saturday afternoon in an outdoor game at Rentschler Field. The game was part of Whale Bowl 2011.
The Black Knights improved to 10-18-4 overall and 9-12-4 in Atlantic Hockey, while the Yellow Jackets fell to 7-20-1 overall and 7-17-1 in conference play.
The second period proved to be AIC's undoing for the second straight game against Army as the Yellow Jackets surrendered three goals in the frame after a scoreless first period.
Junior Mark Dube (Billerica, Mass.) put the Black Knight on the board with a power play goal at 10:33 of the second period and junior Danny Colvin (Vernon, N.J.) scored what proved to be the game winner at 13:07. Senior Cody Omilusik (Traverse City, Mich.) scored just 43 seconds after Colvin to give Army a 3-0 advantage after two periods.

Richard Leitner (Los Alamitos, Calif.) broke-up Army's bid for a shutout off a feed from sophomore
Nick Grasso (Smithtown, N.Y.) midway through the third frame. freshman
Jon Puskar (Grosse Ile, Mich.) also assisted on the play for AIC.
Senior Jay Clark (Baudette, Minn.) made 31 saves as he improved to 6-10-1 this season, while freshman
Ryan Kerpan (Saskatoon, Sask.) fell to 1-5-0 after recording 29 stops.
The Black Knights outshot the Yellow Jackets 33-32 in the game and were 1-for-3 on the power play. AIC was 0-for-5 with the man-advantage.
The Yellow Jackets will \next travel to UConn Friday, February 25, for a 7:05 p.m. Atlantic Hockey contest.
