Erie, Pa. – The American International College men's ice hockey team lost Friday night 2-0 at Mercyhurst. With the loss the Yellow Jackets record falls to 4-21-1 this season and to 4-16-0 in Atlantic Hockey play, while the win improves the Lakers record to 13-13-3 on the year and to 11-7-3 in the conference.

Mercyhurst got out to an early 1-0 lead when junior Neil Graham (Calgary, Alb.) tallied a shorthanded goal at the 14:34 mark of the first period. Senior Matt Peirce (Pakenham, Ont.) and freshman Kevin Noble (Sparwood, B.C.) dished out the assists on Graham's goal. The Lakers went up 2-0 when sophomore Ryan Raven (Tacoma, Wash.) found the back of the net late in the second period to cap off the victory. Noble and classmate Derek Elliot (Des Moines, Iowa) handed out the assists on the goal.

Senior #Tom Fenton# (Sarnia, Ont.) stopped 22 shots on the night for AIC, while his counterpart, sophomore Ryan Zapolski (Erie, Pa.) made 26 saves for Mercyhurst.

The Yellow Jackets outshot the Lakers 26-24 on the night and 10-9 in the second period.
