West Springfield, Mass. – The American International College men's ice hockey team recorded a 2-1 victory over Sacred Heart in the back end of their home-and-home series. With the win the Yellow Jackets improve to 5-26-1 overall and to 5-21-0 in Atlantic Hockey play, while the loss drops the Pioneers record to 8-20-4 this season and to 8-15-3 in the conference.
The win was AIC first since November 25 when they beat Bentley 3-1.
Sacred Heart was first on the scoreboard when sophomore Evan Mladenoff (Leawood, Kan.) tallied a goal 4:17 into the opening period with assists from junior Dave Jarman (Toronto, Ont.) and freshman Matt Gingera (Winnipeg, Man.). Sophomore #

Tom Fenton# (Sarnia, Ont.) made 14 save in the victory for AIC, while his counterpart, classmate Stefan Drew (Oakbank, Man.) stopped 30 shots in the loss for the Pioneers.
AIC outshot the Pioneers 32-15 on the afternoon and 17-5 in the first period.
