HAMDEN, CONN. – The American International College men's ice hockey team lost Saturday night 5-2 to No. 7/8 Quinnipiac. With the loss the Yellow Jackets fall to 2-14-1 for the season, while the win improves the Bobcats to 13-3-1 overall.
In the first period, Quinnipiac got out to a 3-0 lead as senior Mike Atkinson (Sparta, N.J.), classmate Jean-Marc Beaudoin (St. Paul, Alb.), and Brandon Wong (Victoria, B.C.) each tallied a goal.

Nielsson Arcibal# (Vista, Calif.) got the AIC on the board when he lit the lamp early in the second period with assists from junior #
Steve McLeod# (Atikokan, Ont.) and freshman #
Jeff Ceccacci# (Placentia, Calif.). The Bobcats then found the back of the net twice more to take a 5-1 lead heading into the third period.

Dan Ramirez# (Rochester, N.Y.) made 27 saves in the loss, while freshman Eric Hartzell (White Bear Lake, Minn.) stopped 15 shots in the win, before being replaced by classmate Mathieu Cadieux (Oshawa, Ont.).
Next up, the Yellow Jackets take a three-week break before returning to action on January 8, 2010 for a weekend series at Mercyhurst.
