STORRS, Conn. – The American International College men's ice hockey team lost the series finale with UConn Saturday night 4-1. With the loss the Yellow Jackets fall to 1-5-1 overall and to 1-3-1 in Atlantic Hockey play, while the win improves the Huskies to 2-6-0 this season and to 2-3-0 in the conference.
For the second night in a row, UConn scored first, when freshman forward Jim Gallagher (Marquette, Mich.) tallied the first goal of his collegiate career 4:28 into the first period, with an assist from classmate Sean Ambrosie (Moorhead, Minn.). Sophomore forward Marcello Ranallo (Burnaby, B.C.) put the Huskies up 2-1 when he netted a power-play goal, unassisted, at 10:54 of the second period. Just one-minute later, freshman defenseman Alex Gerke (Tomah, Wisc.) extended the UConn lead to 3-1 when he scored a power-play goal with assists from junior Andrew Olson (Alexandria, Minn.) and Ambrosie.
The Huskies added an empty net goal with less than a minute remaining in regulation for the 4-1 win.

Jake Anderson# (Colorado Springs, Colo.) made 23 saves in his first career start for AIC. Freshman Jeff Larson (Balwin, Mo.) stopped 22 shots in the victory for the Huskies.
