WEST SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Freshman #Ben Meisner# (Halifax, N.S.) stopped 35 shots and recorded his first career point with an assist to propel the American International College men's ice hockey team to their second shutout at home in as many games, beating Army 2-0. With the win the Yellow Jackets improve to 2-6-2 overall and to 2-4-1 in Atlantic Hockey play, while the loss drops the Black Knights to 2-7-2 for the season and to 2-4-1 in the conference. The shutout was Meisner's second in four starts this season.

AIC got on the board first when freshman #Adam Pleskach# (Beausejour, Man.) netted the teams third short-handed goal of the season, 3:05 into the opening period of play with assists from sophomore forward #Nielsson Arcibal# (Vista, Calif.) and Meisner.

Junior #Tom Mele# (Bronx, N.Y.) extended the Yellow Jacket lead to 2-0 when he buried a power-play goal at 2:51 of the second period. Pleskach and freshman #Richard Leitner# (Los Alamitos, Calif.) dished out the assists on the goal.

Army goalie Jay Clark (Baudette, Minn.) made 25 saves in the loss.

AIC was outshot 35-27 on the night and 13-9 in the first period.
