SPRINGFIELD, Mass. The American International College men's tennis team dropped a tough 9-0 decision to Assumption College in Northeast-10 men's tennis action this afternoon from Western New England University.
The loss moves AIC to 0-11 on the year and 0-9 in conference play while the Greyhounds improve to 5-7 overall and 4-4 in NE-10 action.
Senior James Worrall (Epsom, England) and freshman Ricardo Martinez (Valencia, Spain) battled tough in no. 1 doubles, but ultimately fell 3-8 while each of them captured the second set in their respective singles matches, but lost in a tie-break.
Sophomore Johno May (Mahtomedi, Minn.) battled strong in no. 4 singles losing the first set 6-4 and second set 6-1.
AIC concludes their 2016 season as they travel to Bentley University for a 12 p.m. affair on Saturday afternoon.
