2008-09 AIC Wrestling Schedule Announced

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (June 27, 2008) – The American International College wrestling team will open the 2008-09 season at the University of Buffalo Open November 2, it was announced by third-year head coach Chaz Seibert. The Yellow Jackets home-opener at Butova Gymnasium is set for November 29 against Kutztown and will face seven Division I schools in dual meets this season. [more]

Wrestling Recognized for Academic Acheivement

The American International College wrestling team has been recognized as one of 10 schools in all of Division II for their outstanding academic achievement. The team earned an overall 3.193 gpa ranking them 10th in the country behind Wisconsin-Parkside who finished ninth with a 3.217. [more]

Wrestling Team Places 13th at NCAA Eastern Regionals

Johnstown, Pa. - The American International College wrestling team is 13th out of 13 teams after the first day of the 2008 NCAA Eastern Regionals, hosted by the University of Pittsburgh-Johnstown. Sophomores Sam Gauvine (Enfield, Conn.) and Jeff Haddad (Old Saybrook, Conn.) and freshman Carlos Lara (Avon, Conn.), seeded sixth at 141, 133 and 125 lbs., advanced to the quarterfinals in the consolation bracket quarterfinals at their respective weight classes.
